A deeply respected leader and innovator within the sustainable energy and design industry, Marlon Kobacker has spent well over a decade making critical contributions to the field and has utilized his exceptional insight and expertise to consistently advance the industry. Now theDirector of Sustainable Future Group, Kobacker continues to push the industry forward with his creativity and his exacting attention to detail.
A graduate of the University of New South Wales, Kobacker earned his Master of the Built Environment in Sustainable Design from the UNSW School of Renewable Engineering and eventually went on to serve as an instructor following the completion of his postgraduate work. In fact, Kobacker contributed to the advancement of the program by developing a course on Solar Architectural Technologies, which was added to the school’s curriculum.
Kobacker eventually left academia and began focusing on professional consulting opportunities. Since then, Kobacker has accepted roles with Cundall, Arup, Edge Environment and AECOM, serving in a variety of leadership positions while offering his insight regarding sustainability and clean energy. While working in varied advisory roles with these global companies, Kobacker was frequently called upon to speak at international energy conferences to impart his specific expertise regarding sustainable design and clean energy finance.
Kobacker, a green building expert specializing in sustainable development, holds a number of critical industry certifications and has frequently shared his comprehensive industry knowledge through the publication of articles and books covering a variety of relevant subjects. In addition to holding LEED Accreditation from the US Green Building Council, Kobacker is also Green Star Accredited through the Green Building Council of Australia and Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited through the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia.
